Want to learn how to play tennis, improve your game, or just get fit in a social environment? No matter what level your game is at, we offer a range of tennis programs for adults interested in social or competitive play. Take a look at the programs we run below for more information.

Dates for the 2019/20 season are as follows:

Term 4 2019
Monday 21 October to 14 December

Monday 10 February to 4 April
This will be an 8 week term

Make up sessions are offered for all lessons missed due to bad weather/public holidays and added to the end of the standard 8 week term on the same day and time.

Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced player, private lessons are the best way to improve and fine tune your tennis skills. With one on one personalised coaching, we will work on your weak areas to take your game to the next level.

Want to see for yourself what your technique is like and how it can be improved? A high speed video lesson is a great way to pinpoint areas of improvement and enhance your overall game. A typical session includes:

45 minutes of stroke video recording from different angles
15 minutes off court analysis

Tennis Xpress six-week coaching course

Learn the basics with a six-week coaching course – Tennis Xpress is all about meeting other players and having fun! The course introduces the basic skills of tennis while introducing players to the scoring system and the rules. Taking place over six weeks, it’s aimed at adults who are either new to the game or a little rusty.

In these sessions, you’ll use specially modified equipment such as slower-bouncing greens and lighter balls and by the end of the course, you will be all set to serve, rally and understand the scoring system. These new skills give the foundation to then continue playing tennis on a regular basis, whether in a social or competitive environment.

Things you’ll learn:

Week One - Discovering all the shots

Week 1 of the Tennis Xpress course is all about getting active, meeting other players and having fun. In this session you’ll try all the different shots and have a go at rallying.

Week Two - Developing all the shots

Week 2 of the Tennis Xpress course is all about building on week 1 and continuing to develop your shots. In this session you will also start to play some points.

Week Three - Serve & Return

Week 3 is all about Serving & Returning. In this session you will try different types of serves and returns and play singles & doubles points.

Week Four - Court Positioning

Week 4 of the Tennis Xpress course is all about court positioning. In this session you will try different types of movement & recovery exercises and will learn where to position yourself on court.

Week Five - Teamwork

Week 5 is all about teamwork. In this session you will learn to work with a partner and discover basic doubles tactics.

Week Six - Putting it all together

Week 6 is where we put it all together. In this session you will warm up all your shots before playing points in a fun tournament.

If you’ve always wanted to learn correct tennis techniques or perhaps you want to brush up on your skills, then our beginner and immediate classes are the perfect place to start.

Our sessions are ideal for first timers or players with limited tennis experience. We cover the basics such as correct grip and techniques with an emphasis on learning to rally, so you can build up your skills in match play situations.

When you’re ready to step up your game, our intermediate program will work on improving your technique and tactical aspects of your game through a series of workouts and drills, while also improving your fitness.

Our classes run in 8 week blocks.

Our drop-in tennis sessions are for players who can’t commit to regular weekly groups – just come along whenever you want and pay as you play.

The Tuesday morning drills session run from 9:15-10:15am at Peppermint Grove Tennis Club

Tuesday Night Mixed Drills

The Tuesday Night drop in session run from 7:00-8:00pm at Peppermint Grove Tennis Club

Cost $20/session

Wednesday Morning Ladies Session

The Wednesday Morning Open Class runs at Peppermint Grove Tennis Club from 9:15-10:45am and involves:

  • Mix drills
  • 30 min of match play
  • Cardio
  • Technical tips

Thursday Night Cardio Tennis

Thursday Morning

Our ladies only tennis classes at Allen Park Tennis Club & Peppermint Grove Tennis Club are a great way to improve your game, keep fit and find new hitting partners. No matter what your level, you will benefit from our expert coaching to further develop your skills. We’ll then put your practice to the test with 30 minutes of match play.

Sessions run for 1.5 hours in 4 week blocks.

A créche is available but bookings are required

Tuesday Night League (Beginner/Intermediate)

The Tuesday Night League runs at Peppermint Grove Tennis Club from 7:00-8:30pm and involves 3 doubles rotations over 25 minutes with coach facilitation.

The Tuesday night league runs as a drop-in format. If you are keen on playing that evening come and join us!

League Schedule:

  • Warm-up (10 minutes)
  • Organisation (5 minutes)
  • Round #1 (25 minutes)
  • Round #2 (25 minutes)
  • Round #3 (25 minutes)
  • Wrap-up (5 minutes)

We have got two clinics running over the Spring holidays for mums!

The clinic will run for 1.5 hours and be based over three stations which cover technical development, a tactical theme and play-based drills. We will then conclude the session with 20 minutes of match-play.

Week 1: Tuesday 1 October – Thursday 3 October

Week 2: Tuesday 8 October – Thursday 10 October

Time: 9:30am-11:00am @ Peppermint Grove Tennis Club

Come and join a fun & relaxed atmosphere for some great tennis on Sunday afternoons Peppermint Grove Tennis Club & Allen Park Tennis Club. Sets commence at 2:00pm and you are welcome to come down before to hit / warmup.
