Endorsed by Tennis Australia, ANZ Tennis Hot Shots is a fun and social way for young players 4 to 12 years of age to learn how to serve, rally and score!
Students use low compression balls and play on a modified court to build perceptual motor skills and begin learning tennis basics. At each stage, ball compression and court size increases in line with the development of the player. This gradual progression improves their skills, preparing them to play on a full-size court with a yellow ball.
*All Red, Orange and Green players in our program get FREE access to our Saturday morning match play session at Peppermint Grove Tennis Club. For more information on this program please see the Hot Shot Match play tab.*

We have three programs on offer
- Cardio Tennis
- Tennis Xpress
- Development Squads
Cardio Tennis
Get ready to break a sweat and have fun with Cardio Tennis! This 60 minute high energy, intensive tennis workout, combines tennis movements and footwork drills with cardio exercise, guaranteed to burn calories and increase your fitness level. Best of all no tennis experience is necessary.
Tennis Xpress
Tennis Xpress six-week coaching course
Learn the basics with a six-week coaching course – Tennis Xpress is all about meeting other players and having fun! The course introduces the basic skills of tennis while introducing players to the scoring system and the rules. Taking place over six weeks, it’s aimed at adults who are either new to the game or a little rusty.
In these sessions, you’ll use specially modified equipment such as slower-bouncing greens and lighter balls and by the end of the course, you will be all set to serve, rally and understand the scoring system. These new skills give the foundation to then continue playing tennis on a regular basis, whether in a social or competitive environment.
Development Squads
Our squad sessions are an extension of the knowledge and skills learned through the ANZ Hot Shots program. Students will be invited to join and grouped according to age and playing level.
Each session covers advanced techniques and training, including 30 minutes of match play. The match play component is designed to familiarise players with correctly applying the rules, focusing on scoring, tactics, positioning and etiquettes.
In most cases players will also be involved in the Tennis West Hot Shots League or Tennis West Junior League.
If your child is interested in getting more out of their tennis, then private sessions are the fastest and most effective way to take their game to the next level!
We offer private lessons before and after school for individuals or small groups of all ages.
Tennis West Hot Shots League
The Hot Shots League is a fun and social way for kids to get involved in team tennis, and gain a basic understanding of scoring and game play. Matches take place every Sunday during summer and winter, with the opportunity to play both singles and doubles over a 75 minute duration.
These sessions are offered to eligible players who are taking part in the Orange Ball (7-9 years) or Green Ball (10-12 years) Hot Shots lessons.
Tennis West Junior League
The Tennis West Junior League is a progression from the Hot Shots League. This weekly competition is played on Sunday morning against other teams in Perth. There are separate leagues for boys and girls, split into a number of divisions based on ages and abilities.
